American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network

Cancer Advocate,

You’ve no doubt seen the news. Coronavirus cases are skyrocketing.

A new ACS CAN study shows that the pandemic has led to nearly half of cancer patients and survivors facing greater challenges just to pay for their care. And with Black and Latino people getting coronavirus at four to five times the rate of others, the need for access to adequate resources like affordable health care is critical.

You have an opportunity to help millions of cancer patients and survivors right now.

Congress is debating a new coronavirus relief package. We’re asking U.S. Senators to include three critical health provisions in the bill that could be the difference between life and death, stability and bankruptcy, for so many cancer patients.

Please join us by sending a message to your U.S. Senators now and ask them to stand up and support the needs of cancer patients and survivors during this pandemic. It takes less than a minute using our easy action form.

From allowing people to enroll in an Affordable Care Act health plan to making it easier to complete some types of cancer treatment at home rather than at a hospital or clinic, these provisions are a lifeline for those in need of quality, affordable cancer care.

This bill could be our last chance in 2020 to get cancer patients and survivors the help they need. And believe me when I tell you that they cannot wait six more months.

Even during a pandemic, cancer will not stop. Neither will we. And, I hope that by taking action today, neither will you.

Thank you.
